I photograph weddings in a natural, unobtrusive way, concentrating on the people, atmosphere and moments that make each day unique. The aim is to give you a set of photographs that feels like your wedding, rather than a collection of poses.
I began my career photographing weddings on film, so although weddings are a newer addition to this website, they are not new to me.
From the preparations and ceremony through to the portraits, speeches and celebrations, I work quickly when needed and quietly when the moment is best left alone.
There is always time for the photographs you know you will want: family groups, the two of you together and the details you have spent months planning. I keep these organised and efficient so you can get back to enjoying the day.
For the rest, I look for genuine expressions, unexpected moments, great light and the interactions happening around you. That mixture of considered portraits and documentary photography creates a fuller story of the day.

With over 40 years behind the camera, Philip Lyons began his career as a commercial photographer, including wedding photography on film, before moving into film and video production. Today, he brings that experience back to weddings with a relaxed, observational approach and an eye for authentic moments. Based near Southampton.
